It's the second anniversary at SNP and it's DSD weekend! Can I get a WHOOT?!! They have planned a super fun weekend for you! The customers and designers are some of the best people in digi and we are so very excited to have each of you actively involved in our community! You have no idea how you've touched our lives and how much we enjoy chatting with you and looking at your layouts. There is something wonderful about SNP. It's the friendships we create. It's the way our stories intertwine with those of the people we've never met in real life. It's people from all over the world uniting in this wonderful way that helps us to capture those small moments in time that make up the stories of our lives. Nowhere else can you find such an awesome group of people who work and create so closely to build such an amazing community for all of us to feel at home in. This weekend we are celebrating each and every one of you be{You}tiful people. The challenges and chats are centered around getting to know you better. We hope you'll join us this weekend as we strengthen our friendships and our community. I'm sure there will be a lot of laughter and of course they've created a Be{You}tiful collection of goodies for you that you won't want to miss. There is a fabulous facebook hop where you can collect 25 be{You}tiful templates and they wouldn't dare celebrate their anniversary or DSD without an awesome store wide sale! There will be 3 live events each day (with the exception of Thursday when there will be only 1) where we can meet in the chat room and get a little crazy (or a lot crazy for some of us...but I'm not naming any names!). There will be prizes awarded at each live event so be sure to be there on time! We'll also have 2 challenges for you each day where you can earn the pieces to a HUGE collab (We're talking 96 Papers, 82 Journal Cards, 190 Ellies and a full alpha!!)! Ladybug Pics and Scraps

Frosted Brights

From the 15th August, the Scraps N Pieces blog train Frosted Brights was available. I downloaded most of the parts, but I created a layout with the part by Amy's Designs. I found the colour scheme a little bit tricky for a boy, but feel that I made it work.

Labour Day Sale

Haley was recently diagnosed with bone cancer and is missing the current school year because of her treatments. Her strong will and determination has allowed her to keep up with her school work and she looks forward to the day she can return to the classroom and her friends. The profits from Pray for Haley will be given to this courageous girl and her family to help with mounting medical costs. Ladybug by Amy's Designs

I've been working on some of the older kits that Amy has made, and I thought I'd start with Ladybug.

I really love ladybugs, and had some really cute pics, so I went ahead and made two pages with this kit. I love how the colours and shades work together, and all the different little ladybug elements.

When We Sow

This week I had some fun playing around and doing some scrapping. I worked with a kit from Amy's Designs, "When We Sow." This is a really pretty kit, in shades of green, teal, yellow, cream and brown, perfect for sweet and elegant gardening photos. I scrapped a LO with a picture of my son buried up to his waist in my in-laws garden last summer in Europe (2012). I used a template done by Amy too, from the Facebook hop for iNSD. Here is the layout I made:

I really loved the kit, but when I got toward the end of my layout, I realized I was missing an alpha to complete the page. I could have used one from another designer, but thought I could make my own for the kit. So that's what I did. Amy has asked me to share this with you, so if you have When We Sow, you can pick this up to go along with it. After you pick up the kit, come back and get the alpha. I'm sure both Amy and myself would love to see what you have made with the kit and alpha. It's a New Day

Amy's Designs from Scraps N' Pieces is releasing a new kit today, called It's a New Day. I got to play with it already, and it is so nice. The colours are really bright and fresh, and versatile enough to be used for boy, girl, or family pages. Here's a preview.

GDS Contest Round 2

Yay, got through to round 2 of the Supreme Team Contest. This week we are working with a beautiful whimsy picnic kit.  Here is a preview of the kit.

I just found out yesterday that I'm on the Creative Team for Amy's Designs. After technology failing us a few times, I'm ready to get started. The first thing Amy has asked me to do is let you know about Scraps N' Pieces Scrap It to Win It contest. I've signed up, and I'm sure it will be lots of fun. Here's some more info about it.

Wow, life's been busy. I've entered the Go Digital Scrapbooking Supreme Team Contest, running against my sister, and we've just finished the first round.  Here is the page I created for it.

We used a beautiful kit, called Seize the Day, by Andrea Gold. If anyone is interested, you can see all the other layouts created with this here. You can also find this kit in the shop here.
If I get through to the next round, I'll post the next layout here by next week.

It's finally over! The Designer Mentoring course, that is. I'm sure that we can all say we have learned a lot. I know I did.
